Over the many years I have talked with people about my military service. More often than not, the question would come up, “Why don’t you write a book?” For many years, I didn’t think I had time to do it while employed. After 24 ½ years with the Indianapolis Star and News Advertising Department, we traveled south during the winter months in our motor home. So, time was of an essence. Retirement took over which gave me more free time, but that didn’t seem to work because my wife became ill and required lots of personal attention. I gave her all of my time 24/7. She passed away May 25, 2017. I try to keep myself busy doing things I had put aside over the years. One day at church, one of my friends said, “Why don’t you write that book?” Now I am proud to share my stories with you.
